You are going to want to try this! This has been one of the MOST flavorful crockpot dinners. I loved the simplicity of the starting recipe and how quickly we were able to throw ingredients in (it was about a 15 minute prep time). We did deviate a tiny bit from the recipe by changing out a few spices and adding other veggies.
We didn’t have chili powder or cumin so, we used Dash’s Fiesta Lime seasoning. Honestly, I don’t remember when or why we got this seasoning but it seemed appropriate since the bottle said it had chili pepper and cumin mixed in.
I also didn’t have chopped green onions.
We added chopped celery, parsley, and possibly other seasonings that Mike threw in when I wasn’t looking. The base of this recipe is great because you can really build it up with more ingredients. Throw in whatever other veggies you have in stock and you should be fine.
